I used to struggle badly with negative mental chatter.  My internal critic could be nasty, and these thoughts would increase my feeling of being overwhelmed and anxious.

The way you think impacts every area of your life, yet it can feel almost impossible to break into those automatic thoughts and change the way you respond to life’s ups and downs. 

I understand it can be challenging to change the way you think.  It can feel overwhelming because there are so many layers to it. You’re busy juggling a career, family, emotional stressors, or health stressors that can make it feel like you just don’t have time to change your behaviours.   I want you to know you can achieve the vision you have for your life, and it doesn’t need to involve huge sacrifices.  Here are 5 Things that help me overcome negative mental chatter.

1. Nature

Take a moment to step outside and immerse yourself in nature. It could be a stroll in the park, a hike in the woods, or simply sitting in your backyard. Nature has a remarkable way of grounding us and putting things into perspective. The rustle of leaves, the scent of flowers, or the feeling of grass beneath your feet – these experiences can create a mental space that allows positive thoughts to flow in.

2. Movement

Don’t worry; you don’t need to become a fitness fanatic overnight. Just find a form of movement that brings you joy, whether it’s dancing in your living room, taking a yoga class, or going for a leisurely bike ride.
